FCA-PSA: the different faces of participation

The extent and transversality of participatory practices render the subject matter the focus of cyclical interventions by the political representations; apart from the necessary exceptions, these are very often rather general declarations of intent or for electoral purposes. It is more complex to analyse the causes that lead a company to adopt participatory arrangements or a government to approve rules on employee representation in corporate governance and control bodies

L’ampiezza e la trasversalità delle pratiche partecipative rendono la materia oggetto di ciclici interventi da parte delle rappresentanze politiche; con le dovute eccezioni, si tratta molto spesso di dichiarazioni d’intenti piuttosto generiche o a fini elettorali. Più complesso analizzare le cause che conducono un’impresa ad adottare modalità partecipative o un governo ad approvare norme sulla rappresentanza dei lavoratori negli organismi di controllo e governance aziendale.

Let’s not be dazzled on the road to the participatory model

I have read with due attention the contribution by Volker Telljohann and the related comment by Mr. Giorgio Verrecchia. As a Workers’ Representative and member of the European Works Council of the FCA Group (at least as long as such a Council existed, since the agreement has expired without being renewed) I would like to share some observations.
