The Covid-19 emergency imposed an adaptation of work organisation and health protection measures in the workplace. It is, in fact, time to reflect on the relationship between the needs dictated by the health emergency and the regulatory framework normally set up to protect the health and safety of workers (and also their privacy) and the role of the trade union.

Training of EWC members in the face of Covid-19: proposals, solutions and issues

The ETUI already started delivering training for EWCs as early as the 1990s, after the first Directive had been published. As the number of EWCs started to grow, the number of demands for training also increased gradually. The right to training as included in the 2009 recast Directive gave a further boost.

L’ETUI ha offerto corsi di formazione per i CAE fin dai primi anni ’90, a seguito della pubblicazione della prima Direttiva. Visto che il numero di CAE aumentava, è cresciuta gradualmente anche la richiesta di formazione. Il diritto alla formazione è stato poi incluso nella revisione della Direttiva, nel 2009, e ciò ha dato un’ulteriore spinta.
